Beckman Couler is, in my opinion, one of the most interesting established biotech-automation companies in existence. They label themselves as a company that makes “biomedical laboratory instruments”. The company was founded by Caltech professor Arnold O. Beckman in ~1934.

Because anything heavily heavily regulated by the FDA naturally has a slower rate of technological progression, there’s a lot of opportunity to appy advancements in robotics to biotechnology. Imagine when automated chemical analysis devices begin to move as fast as a Boston Dynamics Robot
